I was thrilled to be asked by Fangirl Fibers to create a hat pattern with a cryptid motif for one of their Halloween boxes for 2022. I chose the Loch Ness Monster because of a trip to Scotland I took in 2014. Although we never made it as far north as Inverness or Loch Ness, we did travel around other areas of Scotland, from Oban to Tobermory to Glencoe to Loch Lomond to Edinburgh. Scotland is so beautiful, rugged, and magical. It’s easy to imagine all sorts of magical creatures living and hiding in remote and rural areas. The crown is inspired by areas designated as Dark Sky reserves.
Have fun watching Nessie emerge from the depths of the Loch.
