The Whimsically Wicked Wrap was inspired by my love of the Broadway production of Wicked and the pink-to-green diagonal fade design of the movie poster (btw, part 2 of the movie comes out in November). Knitted on the bias, the rectangular wrap includes squishy garter stitch, a quirky aster flower pattern at the color changes, and a center ‘brick road’ pattern.
While the wrap is ’bewitching’ using Wicked-themed colors, it is also perfect for any mini-skein fade set (see kits below) or even 20g-35g scraps from your stash. This design provides color layout schematics and row-by-row instructions with End-of-Row (EOR) counts throughout the project and includes video links for the aster stitch pattern.
Yarn Requirements:
Whimsically Wicked uses a 200g-240g mini-skein set of fingering-weight yarn for the main color(s) and one 100g skein of a contrast color. As with all my patterns, the Design Modification Section includes several MC yarn possibilities, including how to use a 12x20g set, a 10x20g set, and a 7x34g set, making this a flexible pattern that you can knit several times with different outcomes!
Samples/Yarn Vendors with kits:
I knitted three samples to provide instruction on how to use different yarn sets and mini-skein sizes. Each of these vendors below has sets available for purchase.
