The Story:

This headband came about after I was in desperate need of a knitting project. For those of you familiar with this blog, I have recently been taken down by the great enemy of the knitters, RSI. My bad wrists meant no knitting for most of this year. After the stresses of a recent house moving adventure, (not to mention Uni assignments coming out of everywhere!) I decided to create a nice little headband from a ball of… Moda Vera something in a charchol-y blue sort of colour. A headband because I love how quick they are and I always think they look nice! Not content with a simple garter stitch, 2 by 2 rib or stockinette stitch, I went all out and created a nice cable panel. The two edge stitches are garter stitch, to give some stability; the next two stitches in are reverse stockinette to create the panel and the centre four stitches are a nice cable pattern. I sort of just created the cabled bit from my own thoughts, rather than a stitch dictionary. This headband can be worn either with long or short hair, hair up or hair down. Or on the checkouts at work like I do.
