Whispering Willow is a slightly asymmetric triangular brioche shawl featuring staggered brioche branches and a perfectly perfect picot bind-off.

The pattern is written for 10 branches, but is easily modified for fewer or additional branches. Instructions are provided for the Large size; with Construction Notes to make smaller or larger.

You will receive a file with WRITTEN instructions and a separate file with CHARTED instructions. You only need to print one, depending on your preference.

Yardage Requirements:
Large - Fingering weight yarn - 500 yds / 457 m each of a dark color (DC) and light color (LC). Testers yardage ranged from 450-490 yds.
Small variation - 420 yds / 384 m of each color.

Sample shown in La Bien Aimee Merino Singles - 100% superwash merino wool; 400 yds / 366 m, 100 grams.  Colors: Jonna  (DC) and Kokko (LC) - 2 skeins of each color

Needles & Notions:

  • US 5 / 3.75 mm, 32 in / 81 cm or longer circular needle (or size to obtain gauge)
  • 1-2 locking stitch markers (removed and placed throughout)
  • tapestry needle
