Materials
• US Size 0 (2mm) set of dpns or circular needles (for Magic Loop method); US size 00 (1.75mm) for ribbing (optional)
• Light fingering weight yarn - 231y/50 g (211m/50g): You will need about 231 y/50 g total: Background color – 162 y/35 g, Contrast color – 69 y/15 g

Gauge: 9 sts x 13 rows (knitting in the round) in 1” x 1” after blocking (this is gauge for recommended yarn and needles)

Notes
1. Sizes: The pattern is charted for two size options: adult S/M (64 sts) and adult XS/teen (56 sts). The size of the mitts can also be adjusted with yarn and needles. My recommendation would be (64 sts option): for S/M light fingering + 2mm needles, for M use fingering + 2.25/2.5 mm needles, for large use sport weight and 2.5/3 mm needles.
2. Stranded colorwork: Follow the charts from right to left. Catch longer floats using preferred method.
3. Construction: the mitts are knit in the round. The front of the mitt has more stitches than the palm side of the mitt (more notes on that in the instructions). The mitts have a side thumb gusset construction (sore thumb). After the increases for the thumb gusset are completed, the thumb stitches are placed on a piece of scrap yarn and the top of the mitts is finished first. Finally, the thumb stitches are picked up and the thumb ribbing is added.
