I love a rugged yarn that really reflects the sheep it came from, and THIS IS IT. Sawkill has created a gorgeous fiber with depth and texture to it, by combining a number of fleeces from their farm into a beautifully rustic yarn that will last for years!

Widow’s Kiss was designed to showcase the heather and character of the fiber, with a bold cable repeat that offers enough negative and positive space to show up in the yarn, but also appears almost delicate when reflected in the halo these fibers offer.

The motif is easier than it looks, with long stretches of 2x2 rib hidden in the cables. The upper yoke takes advantage of this, transitioning into a beautifully distinct neckline with a combined raglan/saddle shoulder. Sleeves are worked in stockinette, and detail along the sides makes for easy modifications.

Widow’s Kiss is knit seamlessly from the bottom up. Body and sleeves are worked separately in the round and joined at armhole. Cables are both charted and written, and notes are included in the pattern on modifications to fit.

Yardage by Size:

Sizes:
36 (38, 40, 42, 44)(46, 48, 51, 55)“/ 91.5 (96.5, 101.5, 106.75, 111.75) (116.75, 122, 129.5,
139.75) cm. bust circumference

Sizing is based on final blocked fabric, and reflects circumference around sweater at bust. I suggest choosing the size that allows for about 5”/12.75cm of positive ease, based on your actual bust.

If choosing a more fitted size and using a substitute yarn with more memory/elasticity, note that the cables may further affect your gauge when worked over a larger area.
