WIFFLE WAFFLE is a simply yet effective pattern to create a 3D waffle effect. It is an adaptable pattern using simple overlay mosaic crochet that can be used for bags, mats, blankets, cushions, table runners etc. There is also a free bag pattern included!

TECHNIQUE

Basic overlay mosaic crochet. This uses three main stitches (in US terms): single crochet, double crochet and extended double crochet. It also uses only ONE COLOUR PER ROW, so no colour changing is required. The bag pattern involves working in the round, so experience of working in this way is advantageous.

YARN AMOUNTS

As this is a flexible pattern, please make a sample to establish final size and yarn amounts needed. However, a 3 x 3 pattern repeat (one side of the bag shown) using Stylecraft Special DK and a 4.00 mm hook used: 15m of A (light), 50m of B (mid) and 30m of C (dark).

MEASUREMENTS

For a 3 x 3 pattern repeat using Stylecraft Special DK and a 4.00 mm hook measure, approximately, 7” x 7” (18cm x 18cm)
