“I am an artist you know … it is my right to be odd.”
E.A. Bucchianeri, Brushstrokes of a Gadfly

Wifty (another word for eccentric) is the perfect word I would use to describe Dreamer Fibre Muses. This design, created to be fluid and loose, is to be paired up with eccentric yarns: speckled, stripped, stippled, variegated, etc. The design purposefully avoids making precise calculations in the garment - YOU as the knitter and the creator get to decide for yourself the direction you want to take the design. While there are some recommended measurements, this design encourages you to play with it. So pick a fun and wacky colored yarn and let its colors shine in this top that is as eccentric as the Dreamer Fibre Muse that is within you!

The top is constructed by knitting two identical squares in the bias and seaming them together, with some finishing touches worked in garter stitch. The nature of bias fabric will cause the top to curve inwards, for a fun and cute fit!

Yarns Used: Ivy Sock by Holly and Ivy Dyeworks (Fingering; 75% Superwash Merino, 25% Nylon; 462 yards /100 grams) in Speckles Rock!

Needles: US4 (3.5 mm), US5 (3.75 mm) 32” (81 cm) needles.

Yardage: 693 - 1,386 yards (633 - 1267 m).

Gauge: 25 sts and 36 rows = 4 inches (10 cm) in pattern (after blocking) in US 5 needle.

Other Notions: Stitch holders or waste yarn, darning needle, extra needle for three needle BO.

Final Measurements: Dependent on knitter’s measurements

Words of Love from Knitters!

  • Beautiful result from such a simple concept. Lots of give in the bias fabric; mine turned out larger than I had intended, but I actually like the drape of the final work. - Rjreid
  • I love the look of the fabric, easy design! - Boberger
  • The really greatest thing about it is that’s very versatile with yarn weight you can choose. You pick the yarn, choose the right needles and the work adapts to the size you want! - Maromago
  • I really liked the ridges created by the repeats. Any published pattern I’ve ever bought has been very accessible. - meeshaknits
  • I loved the construction! I found your pattern very easy to understand! - xinoda
