I love lace shrugs and have made many of them, but sometimes in addition to the lace I want some coverage for warmth and modesty. The ribbed sleeves on this shrug provide that coverage while the lace back maintains the dainty feel of a lace shrug. I call this the willow shrug, because this lace pattern reminds me of the trailing leaves of willow trees.
This pattern can be made seamlessly with the sleeves knit in the round, or can be made entirely flat with the sleeves seamed at the end.
