Willow Wisp is a lightweight summer tank with delicate lace, airy drape, and a soft, flattering fit. The openwork fabric keeps the knitting engaging while still feeling relaxed on the needles, and the finished top wears easily on warm days or layered into cooler seasons.

The lace fabric is light and breathable, creating a feather weight feel against the skin. Adjustable i cord straps let you choose how you want to wear it, and the silhouette is gently shaped at the bust before flowing comfortably through the body.

Design Details

Willow Wisp is worked from the top down. You begin with the i cord straps and a flat knit bodice, then cast on stitches for the back and join in the round to work the lace body.

The straps can be worn straight, crossback, or halter style, and a photo guide is included to help you choose your preferred configuration. An optional bobble bind off finishes the hem with a playful edge.

Pattern Highlights

  • Customizable strap styles
  • Lightweight lace fabric
  • Top down construction
  • Adjustable length and shaping
  • Optional decorative bind off

Construction Overview

Willow Wisp begins with the i cord straps and front V neck sections worked flat. Stitches are then cast on across the back and joined in the round to work the lace body.

The garment is lightly fitted at the bust and relaxed through the torso. The hem is finished with either a standard bind off or the optional bobble bind off.

Yarn Notes

Our sample was knit in Pure Silk by Knitting for Olive, a 100% silk fingering weight yarn that gives the fabric exceptional drape and a smooth, cool feel against the skin. The fiber enhances the lace definition while still allowing the garment to move naturally.

Linen, cotton, bamboo, or other plant based blends are also great options. A lightweight yarn with good drape will produce the best results for this design.
