What shall I knit with my handspan yarn? This was the question I have all the time when I look at my handspan yarn. I don’t want to „waste“ it as it took time to spin it and I just love the finished skein.

The idea came to knit a versatile cowl. With a hood, so I can put it on my head, when it is chilly outside and the wind blows. You can also wear it on your shoulder caps when they are cold.

This cowl is simple in its construction, with only two different stitches, when you knit it flat, which is the way I prefer when using the garter stitch.
I add the instructions for knitting in the round but be aware, that you will see the transition between the rounds.

This pattern has not a step-by-step instructions, it is more a recipe to achieve a lovely and warm cowl with your beloved handspan yarn. As you can use every yarn you like, the gauge isn’t very important, just use the right needle size for your yarn.
