Windspinner Spiral
This is a written pattern for a windspinner. The pattern includes some pictures to show how it should look like.
The level is experienced beginner, the crocheting isn’t difficult, the final shaping might be a little bit challenging.
For this windspinner I used acrylic yarn: Stylecraft Special dk or similar, which is about 300 meter/328 yards per 100 gram.
I used hooksize 3.0
I needed 51 meter/ 56 yards of yarn, plus the yarn for the balls.
I used 8 different colors for the rainbow version.
This windspinner is about 9.5 cm/ 3.74 inches wide and 23 cm/ 9.1 inches in length.
Other materials needed:
-craftwire: you need more than 150 cm/59 inches, I used wire of 1 mm thickness
-for the 7 little balls:
Or: 6 beads of 3 cm/1.18 inches diameter and 1 bead that’s a little bit smaller
Or: pillowstuffing, in that case you need to crochet the balls
Or: crochet the balls and use beads as stuffing:
6 beads of 25 mm/1 inch diameter and 1 of 20 mm/0.79 inches diameter
Stitches and (US-) terms used in this pattern:
- ch = chainstitch
- foundation chain
- slst = slipstitch
- sc = single crochet
- decr = decrease
- incr = increase
- blo = in backloop only
- flo = in frontloop only
