This is a written pattern for a windspinner in the shape of a teardrop.
The pattern includes several pictures to show how it should look like.

For this windspinner I used acrylic yarn: Stylecraft Special dk or similar, which is about 300 meter/328 yards per 100 gram.
I used hooksize 3.0 and 3.5
I needed 130 meter/142 yards of yarn.

You will also need a bit of stuffing and/or a big bead and a small bead for top and bottom.
My ball on top of the windspinner is about 30 mm diameter, the small ball at the bottom is 12 mm diameter.

This windspinner is about 9.5 cm/3.74 inches in width and 19 cm/7.48 inches in length.

The level is intermediate.

Stitches and (US-) terms used in this pattern:

  • foundation chain / (half) i-cord
  • mc = magic circle (only for the balls on top and bottom)
  • ch = chainstitch
  • slst = slipstitch
  • sc = single crochet
  • foundation sc = sc in the left vertical bar of the previous sc
  • hdc = half double crochet
  • dc = double crochet
  • trc = treble crochet
  • incr = increase = make 2 stitches in 1 stitch
  • decr = decrease = make 1 stitch in two or more stitches
