The first cardigan of the year is here!
With its clean and simple lines, and gorgeous lace-pattern, it is most probably the one I will use most of the time in 2020.
I simply love it:)

Design
The lace-pattern embellishes the cardigan above the hem, and staggered towards the fronts. The same lace-pattern is used as an eyecatcher above the cuffs of the sleeves.
Classic raglan-shaping ensures a great fit.

Construction
The cardigan is worked seamlessly.
The lower body is worked bottom-up and back and forth to underarms.
The sleeves are worked bottom-up and in-the-round to underarms. Sleeves and body are joined and upper body is worked in one piece with regular raglan-decreases. Stitches are picked up to work the neckline and the button-band/buttonhole-band.

Sizes
Chest circumference, when buttoned: Size 1: 77.5 cm/30.5” / Size 2: 82.5 cm/32.5” / Size 3: 87.5 cm/34.5” / Size 4: 92.5 cm/36.5” Size 5: 97.5 cm/38.25” / Size 6: 102.5 cm/40.25” / Size 7: 107.5 cm/42.25” Size 8: 112.5 cm/44.25” Size 9: 117.5 cm/46.25” Size 10: 122.5 cm/48.25” / Size 11: 127.5 cm/50” / Size 12: 132.5 cm/52”

Materials
Yarn: I recommend that you use a sport weight yarn with great stitch-definition. I used the sport weight yarn,”Pashmina” from madelinetosh, to work the cardigan. This yarn comes in skeins of 329meters/360yards. You will need approximately 1000/1050/1125/1200/1275/1350/1425/1500/1575/1650/1725/1800 yards to work the cardigan.
Yardage might vary from one knitter to another, and from one yarn to another.
Recommended needle size 3.5 mm/US4.

Gauge
24 sts and 30 - 32 rows/rounds = 10 x 10 cm/4 x 4”.
Choose needle size to obtain gauge.

The entire lace-pattern is written out row-by-row/round-by-round.
