Winter in New York is a beautiful cowl and is designed to accommodate a wide range of colors (including variegated, speckles, and tonals), instructions are provided for 3-color trios and 5-color mini-sets. You are welcome to use more colors and go full stash-buster!

That being said… in general Color A/1 should be your lightest or softest color, Color C/5 your darkest and Color(s) B/2, 3 & 4 should be somewhere in between. But that’s just a guideline… get creative.
