The Winter Weather Zigzag Shawl is intended to represent the winter weather: the gray rainy days (in light gray color with blue beads as raindrops), the dark nights (in jeans blue color with white beads as snowflakes) and the lighter but icy cold days (in ice blue color with snowflakes and raindrops, also meant as a general winter mood).
And because days and nights are connected, they must merge into one another with a zigzag line.

This triangular shawl is worked forth and back in one piece from the bottom up.

There are two color changes, the „zigzag lines“, which are worked using the Intarsia method.

We also use special twisted stitches, namely twisted stitches slanted to the right and left. They are used to emphasise the pattern and to make it look more elegant.

The shawl also has a special cast-on, so that the bottom edge looks like a cord.

And furthermore we use little beads in two colors (the „raindrops“ and the „snowflakes“).

This is an intermediate – experienced pattern for patient knitters.
At the beginning you have to deal with a lot of stitches, and during working the two color changes with the Intarsia method you will use a lot of little balls of yarn. But it gets easier and easier - I promise! (Some tips and tricks are included!)

About the original yarn:
You need 3 balls in first color, 2 balls in second color and 2 balls in third color.

Of course you can use any other light fingering or fingering yarn or even sock yarn (4 ply) with a similar length.

Happy Knitting!
