WINTER’S MIRAGE

Winter’s Mirage is an Estonian Style shawl made in two pieces and grafted together.

It was adapted for modern use by re-writing the stitches using colored charts and written instructions.

This pattern first appeared on Knitting Paradise in a workshop. The link to this workshop site is found here.

It is part of Knitting and Crochet Workshops with Designer1234 and is being taught by the designer, designated Dragonflylace. This workshop started on January, 2013 . In order to access the workshop, please go to this link:

Once you get to this link, look for Workshop #11: Winter’s Mirage Lace Shawl, with Dragonflylace. The actual pattern is a download on page 2 at the bottom of page 2 of the workshop. This download is labeled Winter’s Mirage Update 1.9.13.

Please be aware that this is a workshop and not a Knit - A - Long. Instructions are provided by the teacher, not the participants. The workshop is labeled closed, but do not be alarmed. All information is permanent, (as it is for all the other workshops listed). I will answer questions on the #6 Workshop - Preparation for Learning Lace. This is a permanently open workshop where I answer questions about lace only. In this workshop, I teach the stitches needed to learn to knit lace and provide motifs and small projects to practice these stitches.

Although this shawl may be knitted in a variety of yarn fibers and weights, to obtain the size given, you will need a lace weight yarn to obtain the same results.
