Columns of twisted-stitch ribbing swirl around ‘knots’ to create the wood-grain texture in these gloves. Like real wood, the knots are not identical in the two gloves.
These gloves were designed to showcase Stone Spindle’s alpaca/wool sock yarn. If substituting, use a fairly high-twist fingering-weight yarn.

The ribbed fabric makes the gloves quite stretchy. The pattern looks best worn with a bit of negative ease, so size down rather than up if you’re between sizes. Adult sizes small (7”), medium (7.5”), and large (8”) at knuckles.

Pattern is for full gloves, with instructions for a fingerless mitt version also included.

The majority of the pattern is graphed only.
