This cowl was inspired by my child’s love of the nighttime sky and their love of animals, especially hedgehogs.

I have listed two different yarn weights for this pattern so both children and adults can enjoy it. Worsted weight being more for an adult size cowl or a more spacious cowl for a child and a DK weight being for a child size cowl.

Needles:
DK Weight
· 26” circular needles in size US 3 (3.25 mm) for ribbing
· 26” circular needles in size US 5 (3.75mm) for main pattern
Worsted Weight
· 26” circular needles in size US 5 (3.75mm) for ribbing
· 26” circular needles in size US 7 (4.5mm) for main
pattern

Yarn: Two high contrasting colors in DK or Worsted weight yarn
DK Weight : MC: 67 yards/61m CC: 40 yards /37m
Worsted Weight: MC: 106 yards/97m CC: 58 yards/53 m

Gauge: Knit swatch in stockinette and in the round (for 4” /10cms
square after blocking)
Please note that I knit tightly so you may need to go down a
needle size or adjust to obtain the correct gauge.
DK: 26 stitches by 28 rows
Worsted: 24 stitches by 26 rows
