This design is one that I had been dreaming about for a few years now and I am so happy that it has finally come to life! Wool Syster Cardigan combines some of my favorite knitting techniques; custom colorwork, set in pockets, steeking and a “reversible” color work collar. This sweater is so comfortable and cozy I know I will be wearing it all sweater season long!

Notes
This cardigan is knit from the bottom up, in the round. After completing Chart 1, stitches are placed on hold for the pockets, to be picked up later. After Chart 2 is worked, stitches are bound off for the underarms and from here the fronts and back are worked flat separately, with slight V neck shaping along the front neck edges. Short rows are worked at the top of the shoulders for shaping, then the shoulders are seamed together using the three needle bind off technique. Stitches are picked up around the armhole openings for the sleeves, which are worked in the round from the top down, with slight shaping and a touch of color work before the cuff. Stitches for the collar are picked up and knit flat TWICE, once for the outside of the collar, then again for the inside. The first (RS) collar is knit with color work, flat, then bound off after a few rows of garter stitch. The second (WS) collar is also knit flat, then seamed together to the front collar during bind off. The pockets are finished by picking up the stitches and knitting stockinette liners, then seaming them to the inside of the sweater. The top of the pockets are finished with a few rows of ribbing, then folded over and seamed to the inside of the front of the pocket.
