Knit a big, cuddly woolly mammoth toy and his little friend, Lucy. This pattern works up quickly in bulky weight yarn, and is a fun way to use fuzzy or fluffy yarn. 

Knitting skills required: knit, purl, increases, decreases, stockinette and garter stitch, I-cord, bobbles, sewing seams and assembling pieces.

Mammoth Materials: 150 g of fuzzy bulky weight yarn in brown (MC), 15 g of smooth bulky weight yarn in cream (CC), pair of 5.5 mm (US size 9) knitting needles, two 5 mm (US size 8) double-pointed needles (dpn), pair of 12 mm black safety eyes or buttons, stuffing, tapestry needle, safety pin or row marker
Gauge: 4 sts and 5 rows per 2.5 cm (1″) in stockinette

Lucy Doll Materials: 10 g of fingering weight yarn in light–dark warm brown (yarn A), 5 g of fingering weight yarn for tunic (yarn B), 5-10 g of fingering weight yarn for the hair, pairs of 2.75 mm and 3.25 mm (US size 2 and 3) knitting needles, stuffing, pair of 6 mm safety eyes or buttons, yarn to embroider the mouth, tapestry needle, scrap yarn or stitch holder, small crochet hook (optional)
