This pattern has a pleasing if a bit unusual wiggly texture - if you are drawn to new and interesting things, places and people - the Xenophile headband may be for you!

Props: This headband is adapted from the ‘Totally Tubular’ headband.

The cast on is standard long tail and the bind off is a combination of a one very simple bind off and one mostly simple bind off (simple stretchy BO) - a bit odd, I know, but the results are good.

In between, it’s just purls and knits and a tiny bit of paying attention to counting stitches but not so much that you won’t be sailing along in short order!

Circular size 7 needle or medium lengthy double pointed needles.

Sizing - This is written for Medium fit, meaning 22” by hat band measure (forehead above the brows to back of head, parallel to the ground – or 24” if measuring from nape of neck to top of forehead, which is how I wear one of these.
Casting on fewer or more stitches in multiples of 4 stitches removes or adds 1” to the sizing – so you can easily customize to the head size you are envisioning.
