Elephants are my absolute favorite animal and I’ve wanted to design a pattern with them in mind for a while. Since February is the month of love, and I love elephants, this seemed like the right time to celebrate them!

These socks are knit from the cuff down with a ribbed cuff and a heel flap. There’s a colorwork section near the top of the leg. The pattern is written for circular needles (magic loop or 9 inch) but can also be knit with DPNs. You’ll also need stitch markers!

SIZING
Small (Medium, Large)

Small: Fits a 7 – 8.5 inch average foot circumference
Medium: Fits a 8.5 – 9.5 inch average foot circumference
Large: Fits a 9.5 – 10.5 inch average foot circumference

Leg/foot length can be easily adjusted.

GAUGE
32 sts and 40 rows / 4 inch square

NEEDLES
2.25 mm (US 1) 9-inch circular needle OR 32-inch circular for a magic loop OR DPNs

For colorwork: I recommend going up one half size (2.5mm - US1.5) or more.
