Zig Zag Magic Heel Socks
by Judy Jewell
What exactly are the BENEFITS of knitting Magic Heel Socks?
I’m so glad you asked!
- No finicky heel means these socks are a complete joy to knit, especially for beginner or nervous sock knitters!
- Knit cuff-down, (but easily adjustable to be knit toe-up).
- They’re ideal if you’re using self-striping yarn because your stripes will be uninterrupted.
- They’re perfect for fast-growing children’s feet because they’re quick to knit and the heel can accommodate multiple sizes.
- They make the best gift knits, especially when you’re not exactly sure what size feet your recipient has. The perfect way to keep them a surprise!
NEEDLES:
US 1.5 (2.5 mm) dpns, 9” (23 cm) short circulars, or long circulars if using the magic loop method (or size needed to obtain gauge).
GAUGE:
32 sts + 48 rnds = 4” (10 cm) on size US1.5 (2.5 mm) needles OR size needed to obtain gauge in stock st (blocked).
SIZES: 1 (2, 3)
To fit foot circumference: 8 (9.25, 10.25)”/20 (23.5, 26) cm
SOCK: (make 2)
CO 60 (64, 68) sts using your favorite stretchy CO method. For dpns, divide and place half your sts over two needles, then place half your sts on the third needle. PM for BOR and join to work in the rnd, being careful not to twist sts (or use magic loop).
