This pattern is knitted on 7½mm needles, which is UK size 1. There isn’t an equivalent US size, so you’ll need to test sizes 10½ and 11, to see which brings you the closest to the correct gauge.

I’ve used Rowanspun Chunky for my example, but you should be able to substitute any chunky/bulky weight yarn. Again, you’ll need to make sure that you’re getting the correct gauge, and don’t forget to check the yardage to make sure you have enough yarn.

Sizes range from 30″ to 54″ chest. (380 to 980 yards)

The sizes given are the actual chest measurements for the cardigan. If you prefer a looser fit, you will need to choose a larger size. Alternatively you can leave out the waist shaping.

The sleeves are a generous size around the upper arm. Even though the cardigan is a close fit, the sleeves should not
be tight.

I don’t give a length for the zipper, as it will depend entirely on the finished centre front measurement of your cardigan!
