You can watch a video with the hat in motion here (this video is playfully showcasing the different ways to style any oversized hat, not only the ZIPF).

The unusually shaped ZIPF is a cosy and fun hat with a delicate stranded section at the lower body for added warmth. Since the denser fabric and the floats of the colour-work are adding more fabric to that part of the hat only, the wearer will never feel uncomfortably hot when wearing it.
The ribbing is worked with short rows to get a taller brim framing the face which is much narrower at the back of the neck. The same shape is repeated in the first, larger stripe so that the whole front section of the hat is much longer than the back of it, resulting in positioning the pointy top much lower at the backside of the hat, without being left with bunched and folded fabric in the nape.
Finally an i-cord loop is worked both as a decorative finish and as a practical way to hang the hat when not in use.
Depending on the mood of the wearer, the hat can either be worn in a slouchy style with ample fit or as a beanie styled hat when tucked in at the back.
