The heddle has 96 slots. I used 76 for the warp. Somehow the right side of the warp is not as tight as the left — I thought I had secured the chair I used as a warping peg, but it must have shifted as I worked, as the left side (warped last) is definitely tighter. I’m getting around this by jamming some papers and a narrow soft-cover book (a 1982 McCall’s Guide to Yarn Substitutions which is not particularly useful as a book!) around the back beam but I’d like to figure out a better way to get the yarn even in the first place. Maybe I just needed to make someone sit on the chair for the duration…!
