I worked on an interchangeable circular needle, changing my feeding (left hand) tip to one a couple of sizes smaller
on rows with “3 into 9” stitches and nupps. This made those rows a little easier to work.

I worked on a US #8 needle throughout, with a US #6 for feeding difficult rows and a US #9 for binding off.

I used a smaller needle (or in a pinch, a lollipop stick) in addition to my US #8 when making the nupps. It made my stitches loose enough to purl 7 together on the following row.

I worked the edge as in this project by larisa, adding the extra row with yarn-overs, then binding off in knit stitches: k1, (k1, pass 2 stitches from right to left needle, k2tog tbl) repeat between ()

The third photo from the top is of the FO before blocking. What a difference!

Even though it’s a “triangle” shawl, I prefer a half-circle shape and saw that it had worked for other ravelers to block it as such. The edging really wants to open up more than the flower chart sections, so I was able to avoid the point of the triangle.

5/14 - I’m waiting for it to dry on my blocking boards. The difference between the before and after is astounding. I’m glad I didn’t add the extra repeat. It would have been to big, but also, making nupps is annoying and slow-going. Worth it though.
