Notes

I machined the two fronts and the back in one evening, but I have an manifest size problem. So back to the swatching step.

The machine parts are done, but I still need to check my hand swatch…

I’m finally finishing this project. Yesterday, I reinforced my knitting and cut the steeks. It was my first time, and it was cool!
I’m just making the frontbands.

And this time, it only needs buttons. I’ve trimed and stitched the steeks today, and it is already my most beloved cardigan. Really, I’m fondly cherishing it every time my eyes fall on…

04/11/2016
The buttons eventually arrived this morning! So I have been able to sew them on and tag the cardi as finished!
I love that cardigan. I love the color combo, I love the yarn, I love how the buttons absorb and reflect the green color of it. I’m in love.

I did minor modifications. I used 1x1 ribbing because I couldn’t find a satisfying cast on with the knitting machine with 2x2 ribbing. I made longer sleeves because of my long arms, and because I like my sleeves long enough to cover my hands when I need it.
The steeking experience was great, I’m eager to use this method again. I used a crocheted reinforcement that was removed afterward. As I used steeks only along the handknitted part, I chose to just overlock and stitch down the steek bridge.

I’m thinking about handknitting a second one. To avoid the sewing part.
