My back seemed too small, and so did the funnel neck. To fix this, I made the front a size larger, still bound off the same number of shoulder stitches, and just left the excess in the neck for some extra room. It could use even more, to be honest!

The minute I saw this simple pullover I thought…. hmmm… 2 aran strands held together at all times. Isn’t this perfect for combining a million different skeins from my One Skein Only Stash Basket? It’s hard to make sport or DK weight stash busters work because each skein has to go with the next, and let’s face it, my stash basket is very random. But if you use 2 or 3 yarns held together, you can force better matching, and it can be anywhere between chunky and bulky for thickness -- the possibilities are exponential!

On the only warm day we’ve had all year, I dumped my basket out onto the deck and arranged skeins in a color gradient. It’s a simple plan, rows 1-4 have two colors and one of the colors gets carried to the next group of rows 5-8. Thus, every yarn is used for 8 rows.

I’m very happy -- though the fabric is thick and it’s turning out smaller than I’d hoped. I think I’ll do the medium for the front.
