Notes

Blogged here!

September 10, 2014: The crocheted edgings really make the piece. I did the hem one a little tighter to bring it in, a bit like a bubble top. So cute, so Japanese, I love this top.

August 25, 2014: Ok, my yarn amounts fit the 3rd size NOT the 1st! I needed 3 balls of MC Summer Tweed, and would have needed to just start a 2nd ball of CC Summer Tweed… except I REFUSED to buy another whole ball of this not-so-fun to knit with stuff for a few rows, ugh.

I undid the back to recover the green I needed and finished the front as normal. Then I searched through my scraps stash and found for a fuzzy green that I paired with the KSH to get a pretty damn good color match for the part I was missing on the back. Held it up to 3 fellow knitters and they couldn’t see that it was a “mistake” until I pointed it out. WIN! (see photo)

I chose this simple square top in order to play with Summer Tweed. I heard it was hard to knit with, and it is. However, this slip stitch pattern is easy to work with and it’s a go. If it were cables, I would stop right away.

I think I prefer the opposite side of this stitch pattern, I sense another reversal in my future!

In my opinion, the instructions are not clear that you need to end every sl&wrapr with a yarn over, especially on the purl or RS. Make sure on the purl rows you go over the needle to make that yarn over.
