I’ll never understand how free patterns are suddenly discontinued on this site. Typically, if it’s free, it’s either a download or a link to a website. Nowhere could I find the actual pattern for this, and if it’s free, it’s not like they’re trying to keep people from profiting off it, right?
Some internet sleuthing produced a video tutorial in another language, with an English dub. Strategic screenshots gave me access to the pattern itself, if not the entirety of the pattern info. I think I’ve pieced together enough to make something.
From the onset, I’m just making 4x everything so I can complete the set. Pistaschio for the head, arms, and legs. Bone for the front of the shell, and dark sage for the back.
The body/shell is where I started, because I figured that would be the easiest. Man, these guys are going to be tiny.
Currently working on head #1, and am pausing because I want to make the mask and placement for it and the eyes before I decrease so much that it’s annoying to fiddle with.

Finished the first. Getting the mask and eyes done is probably the most finicky part. They’re so small that it’s super easy to rip the felt.

All that’s left is to glue the masks. These are so cute, but I doubt I’ll ever make any more. Unless I use bigger yarn and hooks. I don’t love working this small, and trimming the felt for the eyes when you’re a perfectionist is nerve-wracking.
Somewhere in this process, the last two heads I made ended up larger than the first two. I’m pretty sure I didn’t change hooks, but there’s the slightest possibility, since I always have multiple projects going at once.
I know Michaelangelo’s (orange) eyes are farther apart, although I feel certain I used the same distance between stitches as I did on the ones before him. I guess I just have to accept the fact that I’m not a machine and these four were never going to be identical.
