This is a wonderfully written pattern, and it would work up in about an hour. I went down a hook size, because I like to block mine to size so I don’t make them too big.

So, after I was done, I realized that using an H hook only blocks it to about 11”, so I added a DC round to it to make it 12”. The second one, I used an I hook, and unblocked it wasn’t quite 12”, so I added an HDC round to make it 12” unblocked. If you work it up right, it’s nice and square and really does not require any blocking unless you want to . I have to make a 3rd one, so I’ll use a J hook on that to see how we fair…
