Lovely, simple pattern - I made this for my darling granddaughter’s 10th birthday, in her favorite deep purple color. She gets to “choose her own adventure” with the button embellishment(s).

I used foundation single crochet - makes starting the project so easy! - and just worked until I had 17” for the foundation round (as the pattern suggested for a child’s size). Then, since I used worsted-weight instead of dk-weight yarn, I worked just nine rounds of back-loop single crochet (the pattern suggested 14 rounds), joining as per the pattern instructions.

I just learned foundation single crochet, so I think I need to research how to make the final round exactly match the foundation round - maybe a round of slip stitch?
