While browsing through the Frugal Knitters Group’s finished projects, I noticed more than 35 projects that used this Cheryl Niamath, Knitty, 2006, pattern. The projects caught my eye because of how gracefully the cables wrap the hands and flow smoothly into the 4 by 1 ribbing. I have never made any fingerless gloves for myself, so this will be my first pair!

The suggested Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Aran sounds wonderful for my next pair. For my first pair, I’m using some Simply Soft left in my stash from an afghan project.

I’m loving this project so far. The cable cast-on is attractive. The pattern is simple enough that I can work on my gloves while talking with my family.

My first pair is finished and I am starting a second pair for my daughter. I love this pattern!

One note about this pattern in Simply Soft, is that blocking improves the appearance tremendously. After hand washing in warm water and drying flat, the thumbs match better, the picot bind-off is not curling, and the picot points are even and match the cast-on edge.
