This shawl is going so quickly! I started yesterday and am on row 15 out of 18 today.
I was looking for Simply Soft in a sea foam green color for to make this shawl for my sister-in-law, Shirley. Wal Mart’s yarn shelves were nearly empty and I almost gave up looking when I saw this Lion Brand “Heartland” yarn in a beautiful heathered teal color called “Glacier Bay.” The yarn is working up nicely on a U.S. size J (6.0 mm) hook and looks pretty in this pattern.
I was a little worried about using this yarn because I find Lion Brand “Homespun” to be very “splitty” for me, but I am not having any trouble with “Heartland.”

Put this aside to work on other projects and picked it up to finish for Shirley’s and Charlie’s visit. It was just as fast and easy to finish as it was to start.
Blocked this by washing in cool water and laying it out flat to dry, stretching the points out so the pattern would show. Very easy!
I love this pattern and I love the Heartland yarn. I plan to make another shawl for myself.

Decided to buy yarn to make a second Pineapple Shawl for my birthday!

This shawl is going quickly, just like the first shawl I made for Shirley. I started it yesterday and I think I’m going to finish it today. I love the chocolate color.

Missed a cluster and had to take out a row yesterday. Finished today - now just need to block and photograph. I love it.

Have decided to add length to the shawl, since the small size does not look good on me. I plan to add a wide border, about 8” at the top. To be sure this will work, I plan to pin an 8” fabric strip around the top and test the fit before I begin the border.
This will change the circular plan of the shawl, but I’m hoping that the border will allow me to wear the shawl around my shoulders while the extra fullness from the circle works like gathering.
