Based on the pattern that knittingnix lent me so very kindly - yay! Posted it all the way from Northern Ireland to me and just trusted me to send it back (which I did). And big thanks to selfish knitters and crocheters for reminding me that my mum belongs firmly on the knit list. Hooray for lovely knitters!

Made a couple of changes including to the sides (circles instead of cables coz they’re hugs) and changes to the neck (stand up instead of turtleneck) and the fit (slightly looser instead of negative ease). But she loved it! Every time I call her she’s wearing it - and has very nicely asked for another similar something for her birthday in Feb. Big success.
