New mittens for my eldest.
They’ve been a bit of a saga.
Bought yarn May 2020 with promise to knit birthday mittens.
Rapidly knit up two thirds of mittens, made a mistake in the thumb and had to partially frog.
Temporarily lost interest and carelessly left pure wool yarn lying around for about 9 months or so.
Packed ufo mittens on trip to Tasmania in April 2021, intending to finish them, but discovered the yarn had been eaten by moths.
Put yarn (and knitting needles) in my dad’s freezer in Launceston to kill moths. Promptly forgot about it and left it behind when we drove to Hobart for the plane trip home.
Bought a replacement skein in Salamanca Place just before hopping on the plane.
Dad kindly posted back my knitting needles to Adelaide.
Finally knit a new pair of mittens last weekend, and yes they only took a weekend after all that
Bestowed them on the young person who said, accurately, with eye roll “… 15 months later…”
