This is my 4th Owl Obsession blanket this year! Wove in ends as I finished each piece/section. Added “Tufts” to the ear tips. So cute!!

GAME CHANGER - Did the eyes as soon as I was done with the owl motifs and sewed them on right away, before adding the Ivory hexagon shaping. Made the whole project much more enjoyable not having to worry about taking the time later to sew on all of the eyes.

Used techniques from my other blankets, especially assembling in “strips” to make it easier to add beaks and eyes and then to “zip” a seam all the way down. Left about 30” of a tail when finishing each motif and used it to piece together each strip. ‘Flat Zipper’ join. Used my own half-hexagon motif which uses similar stitches as the center of the motifs, rather than the open work of the motifs from the pattern.
