Knitting in the Round

I knitted everything but the ears, star and wings in the round.

For the body and head, the only round that is purled is the top row of the bodice, where it says K 2 rows.

For the skirt, in row 6, K where it says P and P where it says K.

Yarn

I held the Palette and Gold Rush yarns double.

The Gold Rush yarn is identical to the Anchor Artiste Metallic yarn specified in the pattern, same gauge, same number of yards per cone. I think it’s just relabeled for US distribution.

The pattern doesn’t say to double the metallic yarn, but you can see the result of trying to make the star with one strand in the photos. It was just too floppy to do anything with. Doubled, the yarn worked fine for both the star and wings. I used hair spray to solidify the shape of the star, which needed it. Also on the tail and the wings.
