I am planning to make a narrow version, since I’m using far smaller needles than called for in the pattern, and laceweight instead of fingering. My yarn wanted to be elysium, and I could not argue.

I’ll make five squares to make it longer, but am fine with it being narrower.

I’ve now joined the squares and triangles, and am doing some thinking.

I decided to mark the repeats after the middle of the (bottom) edge on row 7. (Every 17 stitches). I then had four stitches extra on each side, and just decreased those.

Needs blocking, but that will have to wait until tomorrow.

For the top edge, I knit three rows, then did a row of yo, p2tog, at the same time decreasing in the middle, so that of the 16 stitches from the crochet loops (I knit 4tog, then 3tog, then 5tog over the corner point). The loose bind off is a problem, as it rolls. Do not bind off loosely.

I bound off the outer edge using 4mm needles, and the inner edge with 3mm, both using p1 (p1, put both stitches on right needle and k2tog).

It might need a more aggressive block.
