Pattern gauge uses 3mm (US 2.5) but there’s no way I can get close to gauge on those needles with anything other than heavy DK/worsted; used 3.25 (US 3) and before blocking got 24 st/4”. Usually need US3 and get 24-25st gauge for a DK yarn in other patterns.

Started gusset increases on chart repeat 4, row 3 based on my stockinette row gauge on sole and using the formula in the pattern.

Completed the 6th chart repeat after heel and worked 3 more complete chart repeats, for a total of 9 chart repeats for a sock (from toe to cuff). Could possibly have got in a fourth repeat with 5g remaining for each sock, but too chicken to play yarn chicken and the leg is long enough.

Each sock used:
MC: approx. 43g, or 114 yards
CC: approx. 5.5g, or 15 yards
Great thing about toe up: you can see what you have left and how tall the leg will be without running out so you can finish.

Despite the difference in gauge, it is a good fit. It’s a great fit on the foot, especially: Nancy’s patterns are the best toe up fit I have ever been able to achieve. This is a fun pattern, easy repeats to memorize after you see the texture pattern, you don’t need the chart.
