Crochet-hook cast-on with same size hook.

Nice dense fabric.

I’m thinking i might add some ribbing when finished.

7:30 PM. Time to frog! This is WAY too big for my hand. Pinched, counted the extra stitches. So, restarting but following the directions for the medium size.

11:45 PM. Maybe it’s time to change yarn, to something a tad thinner. Stash dive upcoming.

February 27, 2022

3:18 AM. I do know better than to start things late at night. Or I thought I did.
I’ll rip out the few rows I’ve done on 47 stitches in the morning, and restart with the medium.

February 28, 2022

Finally! Success! The medium size cuff fits (loosely) my wrist.

June 9, 2022

Finally got to 3” done!! If I counted correctly, that’s 21 rounds.
But … I had changed from largest to medium size, and forgotten! Too bad! My medium sized mittens will have 3” cuffs, is all. Cuffs can be longer.

What’s good to watch on TV while mindlessly knitting round-and-round? The January 6th Committee Hearings in prime time, is what.

I’m itching to get started on the thumbs!

These Addi FlexiFlips … I wish there were four in a set. Because three isn’t quite enough when the stitch count gets close to 56. No stitches escaped, but I had to pay attention to not lose any.

The stitch counts for the decreases at the top of the mitten seem off.
K15, pm, K5, pm, K6, pm, k to end of round. BUT that last section is 14 stitches.

It seems to me that the 6 should be 5 and the 14 be 15.

Otherwise, it’s unbalanced, and both left and right mittens are to be made following the same set of directions.

2:18 AM I’ll stop now. Let it percolate overnight, and have at it again tomorrow.

June 12, 2022

Hmm … Maybe time for some customizing?
On the pinky-side, the first decrease is perfectly placed, but not so on the index-side nor in length for the middle finger.

So, come morning, I’ll tink back to the second decrease round, and not decrease. Then I’ll do another first decrease round and see if that will give me the necessary length.

Or maybe not? Ripped back to 40 sts. Added some rounds. Knit to last 8 stitches. I want the extra length of grafting them; I’ll get to it after some sleep. Now 5 AM.

Second mitten well underway!

June 16, 2022

It’s a good thing there will be plenty of yarn to add ribbing to the rolling cuffs. I just need to finish the thumbs first. Left first; right second.

June 17, 2022

Technically, they’re finished. There are a few ends to weave in, but only after I add a few rounds of 2x2 ribbing. I do not like the rolled edge on the cuff.

The next pair will begin with ribbing.

June 19, 2022

All knitting done!
I’ll finish weaving in ends at Sunday Morning Knitting Meeting.
