• Cast on using yarns from a Knit Picks Colorwork Sweater kit…. I’ve been sitting on this kit for years. I figure there’s a better chance of the Moths eating it than me actually knitting a full sized adult colorwork cardi, so mittens it will be!

• For the heart cuff section… just to be difficult… I had a bright idea to use a bunch of the colors in the yellow/orange/rust tones to try and jazz up my project.
• There will be a million ends to weave in… tension will be touchy around the joins…
• I decided to do something similar to the sweater from the kid actually… 4 rows of rust / 3 rows of orange / 3 rows of yellow / 3 rows of orange / 4 rows of rust.

• The first owl on the palm is complete! I think these are turning out pretty well… I thought maybe I was a little over ambitious with the extra colors, but I’m liking it so far.
• I plan to do some duplicate stitch to bring in the orange and reddish colors to the upper portion of the mitten.

The first whole mitten is done…. and the second is completed to the thumb. I feel like the whole thing is going quite well :) I’ll be interested to see how the thumb goes.
