It’s only been 3 1/2 years or so since I bought this kit! I guess it’s time to start it. :)

Technically I started this yesterday, and it’s crochet, but I’ll consider it my Christmas Eve cast-on.

Vicky is fond of the every-other-stitch color change in her designs. Cute but slow! The Zooey yarn is very rough, though, so I wouldn’t be zooming through this bag anyway.

I’ve finished the body and measured it, and mine is significantly bigger than the pattern sample. I hope I do not run out of the Zooey yarn, but if I do, I’ll just pop into Island Yarn and pick up another ball.

I am enjoying the slight challenge of the colorwork! It makes it more interesting to have to do all that yarn management. The pattern isn’t all that detailed, so I am carrying my yarn up the rows and working in a spiral. There’s quite a step in the seam in the back -- if I make this again I’ll do more research about doing an invisible, straight seam. Since it doesn’t say anything about cutting and re-attaching to do the front flap, maybe that’s what Vicky did?
