I’ve decided that Saturdays for 2026 are going to be Stash Lottery Saturdays. This first Saturday, the random number generator chose the Black Grey White colorway of this Cotton Colors as the winner. I had previously used some of the cake and a few other colorways of the same yarn for a Cat Mosaic Pillow, one of my favorite makes ever! I never took the time to weigh my left-overs for that project, so I just did that and added a picture of the four partial cakes I have to start with (the Black Grey White is the one in the top left but all the white and black have been used, so it’s just a grey gradient now).
I’ve had this bag pattern by the same designer as the cat pillow in my queue for a long time and I think it is gorgeous. I will need to further decompose these cakes and make that pattern from these partial cakes, using the greys as color C and blues as color A/B.

At the end of the first day I’m finished with round 18 of 24 of the bag bottom. I love how Natalia does the foundation chain with the long tail. I also love how she staggers the increases on the oval so the rounded ends are smooth.

I finished the oval bottom of the bag and it measured very close to the pattern dimensions. I’ve traced it onto a piece of paper for later when I make a lining.
I’m 9 rounds in on the bag body now and I love these colors. I probably should have reserved the darkest that I used on the bag bottom for the mosaic part for more contrast, but it will be fine.

Stopped at round 15 at mid-day. There are 120 rounds in the bag. This is going to take a while.

I have finished the second chart which is through round 53. I love the colors and it is an appropriate project now that it is Spring. I am making this my focus project and will also take it to San Antonio next week to work on during the plane ride and during the week with my Mom and siblings.
I am finding the Knit Companion app on my iPad to be really useful for keeping track of where I am in these charts.

The crocheting is done, and I have purchased all the parts for the lining and the straps. Now I need C to come home over a weekend with her sewing machine.
