I first started with two blue hanks of Madelinetosh but the contrast between Garter and lace section was too low. Then I tripped over these two strands and then knitting was pure fun directly. The purple also repeats itself in the main color and the contrast is just right. I‘m very happy with the result. The repeat of the lace section is easy to remember and you can see if you are right on the previous row.

Carriing yarn:
I always knitted the first stitch of the first row with both yarns to transport the thread of the unused color. In the back row I knitted this stitch only with the active color and just made sure that the unused color was in front of the active color (seen from the back side). By using this method the thread is transported with the right tension at the edge and on the front it’s not easy to find a place were you can see the second color through. But I don’t know how this works when the contrast is higher.
