I made this hat before for Lilly. I increased the needle size 7 and CO 76st instead of 74sts. The fear of playing yarn chicken, I knit 1 less row on decreases. I followed the pattern for “baby”. Now for pom pom.

I altered the pattern a little bit, as when I first made this it was too lose. I changed the ribbing to K2/P2 for 2”, I also changed the needles; brim was done in size 8 and body of hat size 9. Fits better.
