Notes

I’ve wanted to make this one from the instant I saw it. So pretty!

Neck:
*Cast on to Addi 16” size 10.75 (7mm) Rockets, using crochet over the needle provisional cast on with waste yarn and a J hook (6mm).
*25 rounds of ribbing instead of 24, because I don’t have the cast on row.
*Then turn inside out to join, because my ribbing looks better on the wrong side.

Yoke:
Change to Chiaogoo fixed 16” size 11 (8mm) to begin the chart, and then to 24” interchangeables when enough stitches.

Nupps:
*I swatched quite a bit for these, trying different methods, but in the end I found that they came out the best for me when done as outlined in the pattern (kf&b and pass over), except that I did 7 loops instead of 6, and then “strangled” them as follows:
*Bring yarn forward, slip stitch to left needle, bring yarn to back, slip stitch back (essentially wrapping counterclockwise around the nupp).
*I found that I needed to knit the nupps tbl on the following round (or purl normally).

Short Rows:
I wasn’t sure if the instruction to turn “8 stitches before the last turn” included the double stitch or not (8 sts before the last turn would be 7 sts before the last double stitch). The double stitch is not even mentioned in the pattern instructions. It is only instructed in the definitions, where it is explained “how to turn”. For this reason, it seemed to me that the double stitch was considered to be part of the turn, so I counted it as a unit and turned 8 sts before the last double stitch.

But then when separating for the sleeves, it turned out that the stitches to be put on holders were off-center with the short rows. They would have been perfectly centered had I turned before the turn instead of before the double stitch. So I ended up ripping out all the short rows and re-doing them. That’s what I get for over-thinking things.
*Switched to 32” needle at this point.

Body:
36 Rounds

Ribbing:
*Do not switch needles
*12 rounds
*Bind off with grafted bind off, as per this video by Roxanne Richardson (kind of like a tubular bind off without the tube).

Sleeves:
*16” Chiaogoo size 11, one fixed & one interchangeable.
*Worked both sleeves in tandem, back and forth, each with its own needle (rather than 2 at a time on the same needle).
*53 Rounds

Cuffs:
*Switch to 39” size 10.75 (two 30” cables, each with one 4” tip & one 5” tip)
*Continue to work both sleeves in tandem, each with its own needle, magic loop.
*Decrease as follows:
(k2tog, k1)7x
k2tog
(k2tog, k1)7x
K2tog
*Ribbing: 15 Rounds
*Grafted bind off as for body
