Notes

First, I want to say that this is the most intricate design I’ve ever done and the best written pattern I’ve ever seen. Dedri has done a fantastic job explaining everything! I’ve been lost, but when I read on, it is there for me to follow. If you are more visual, she even has videos on how to do all of this. I think it’s the best written and the most well-planned mystery project I’ve ever seen! I had issues with the first attempt and my hubby hurt my feelings as he didn’t like all the colors I was using since I was pulling items from my stash so that I could use some of that up instead of purchasing the kit, which I want to buy so badly, but I have so much yarn staring me in the face, that it’s hard to justify. Since I had so many issues with my first Sophie’s, all my own mistakes of not crocheting on the right side, I decided to stop that one at the end of Part 4, and start a new. My hubby suggested a one color project and I decided to use up my ivory stash because I love the one color projects being posted.

Then I started a second Sophie’s in one (or maybe a few extra) colors on Feb. 17, which is this project. I looked in my stash and I had a lot of this white yarn, so I decided to make a project using mostly white and neutral colors. Here is the project so far:

Photo 1 & 2: End of Part 17. (no blocking).
Photos 3 & 4: End of Part 16. (blocked) Blanket measures 60 inches wide by 64 inches tall. It doesn’t fit on our regulation size pool table (across it in width) and now I have to put it on the floor to block and take a picture.
Photo 5: End of Part 15 (not blocked).
Photo 6: End of Part 12. (Not blocked)
Photo 7: End of Part 11. (not blocked) I am so glad we are back to only 4 sides!!!
Photo 8: End of Part 10. (not blocked)
Photo 9: End of Part 9. (not blocked)
Photo 10: End of Part 8.
Photo 11: End of Part 7. This is getting big. Measures approximately 41 inches across.
Photo 12: End of Part 5. (not blocked)
Photo 13: End of Part 4. I added two soft brown colors to the square border. I also did the flower part in Deb Norville’s Cappuccino yarn. (not blocked)
Photo 14: End of Part 2. (not blocked).

Total yarn usage so far:
Hobby Lobby I Love This Yarn in Ivory- 6 skeins.
Caron Simply Soft in Truffle Heather- 2 skeins.
Caron Simply Soft in Taupe- 2 skeins.
Deborah Norville’s Soft Worsted in Cappuccino- small part of 1 skein for flower petals only, Part 4.
